EP SIG Leadership

President

Steve Rodriguez, PT, DPT, MS

Hello, my name is Steve Rodriguez, and I serve as the President of the EP SIG for AAOMPT. I’m very excited to gain this opportunity in order to shed light on the many facets of AAOMPT, most importantly the future generation of leaders who wish to serve in a greater capacity through early career development and involvement through AAOMPT. Our goal is to create an avenue alongside like-minded professionals that will provide everyone with a way to connect in order to learn more about what AAOMPT has to offer and how those before us can help guide early professionals seeking a path to fellowship through AAOMPT. We welcome everyone who is interested in joining the AAOMPT EP SIG and we hope to enhance engagement with regards to this aspect of early professional growth.

Vice President

John Morgan, PT, DPT, DMA

My name is John Morgan; I am a new graduate PT, having recently completed my entry-level program at the University of Maryland, Baltimore.  I currently practice at an outpatient clinic in nearby Ellicott City, Maryland.  During my clinical rotations as part of my entry-level curriculum I was extremely drawn to and motivated by the understanding and application of best evidence for diagnosis and treatment by AAOMPT Fellows under whom I had the privilege to study. My goal for serving in the AAOMPT EP SIG is to promote continued engagement and education among my fellow new graduate colleagues in the hope that we can grow our collective practice to promote the highest standards of care.

Treasurer

Karissa Rowland, PT, DPT, ATC/L, MS

I graduated from the University of St. Augustine’s DPT program and have been practicing at Brooks Rehabilitation for the past two years. I am currently finishing my orthopedic residency and will then begin an orthopedic manual physical therapy fellowship through Brooks Rehabilitation Institute of Higher Learning. After fellowship, my professional goal is to give back and teach at an entry level DPT program, while also continuing to improve the lifestyles of my patients. I hope to increase engagement and the feeling of community within the EP SIG to provide connections for those of us just entering the profession.  Outside of my professional career, I enjoy running, riding my bike, kayaking, boating, traveling, and watching the Florida Gators.
